Ven Matt Talbot

Matt Talbot, Venerable Saint and patron of those fighting alcoholism, was born in Dublin in 1856, he was the second of twelve children.

His addiction to alcohol began at 12, when he started working as a messenger for some liquor merchants and began drinking heavily. He remained an active alcoholic for 15 years, until a profound religious experience led to a period of sobriety and his joining the Franciscan Third Order in 1891.

Afterwards, he devoted his life to prayer and work, encouraging others to abandon alcohol, before his death in 1925 while en route to Mass.

This medal is made in Sterling Silver and has a plain back with could be engraved to add that personal touch to a gift. It measures approximately 21mm tall.
